Most MartinLogan ESL owners will recognise the
importance of panel care and panel protection. My house and room
is always clean (a few women have described it as OCD clean).
I have installed double patio door & window blinds with a
dedicated light diffuser blind. I also recently added a UV blocking
film to the patio glass and I regularly clean the panels with
a dedicated panel vacuum cleaner tool.
My first thoughts were to ask my mother to sew
together a material of my choice, but Alzheimer's disease has
robbed her of the ability to use her long cherished sewing machine.
These custom made covers were provided by Coversall.
I previously used Coversall to make covers for my outdoor furniture
(their speciality). I did consider designing a cover for the entire
speaker, however, considering factors such as ease of manipulation
during fitting & removal over the entire ‘L’ shape
& my tight budget, I opted for the simpler ‘panel only
cover.’ Other options such as motif, or logo images can
be added (at an extra cost). My design is basic with added zip
along one side for ease of fitting and removal. Total cost for
the pair of covers coming in at a reasonable £68.59 including
delivery.
I am relatively content with the industrial
leather – rubbery feel finished results. At present the
covers do resemble the hind quarters of an elephant, however,
I am sure the wrinkles will smooth out over time.
