Jazz On The Square is one of my favourite events
on the St. Lucia Jazz Festival calendar. It is an ideal venue to
experience the many musical flavours St. Lucia and surrounding islands
have to offer up close and personal.
The line-up is as diverse as the patrons who flock
to this delightful square. Impeccably dressed school children (who
are almost impeccably behaved) listened, ran and danced to the lite
soca rhythms, soul and R&B from Michele Henderson. Island visitors
as well as local workers on a short or long term break gyrated and
danced salsa to the Latin flavours of Giraldo Piloto & Klimax,
rocked gently with Nadine Sutherland, listened intently to thought
provoking lyrics from Qshan Deyà and laughed wildly at the
clever adult wit of Invader and Crazy.
A one size fits all event.
