Biography
Matthew Lee is a rock’n’roll singer and pianist from
Italy. Besides being a talented musician, his unmistakable and ductile
voice can be energetic and gritty but also warm and expressive.
Despite his young age, he is able to capture the audience’s
attention on stage.
Matthew Lee was born on January 6, 1982. At 11, he started attending
the Conservatoire in Pesaro, his hometown. He immediately learned
the piano techniques by playing classical music. His first contact
with rock’n’roll came by listening to Elvis Presley’s
LPs,owned by his father.
Three times he was invited to the famous Italian TV show “Domenica
In… (to be compared with the well-known Saturday Night Show)
which was immediately followed by more television appearances. Meanwhile
the press has defined him as the “genius in Jerry Lee
Lewis’ wake”.
Lee started touring the most famous Italian clubs, including The
Place in Rome, Le Scimmie in Milan, Barfly in Ancona, Naima in Forlì.
He was to be found at every important summer festival such as Lodi
Blues Festival, Brindisi Blues Festival, Subiaco Rock Festival,
Soul Island Festival (Island of Elba), Tropea Blues Festival and
San Severino Marche Blues Festival which he opened in front of 1500
enthusiastic people. He is also a regular guest at the popular annual
Summer Jamboree festival in Senigallia. To top this all, Matthew
Lee performed in Rome during New Year’s Eve, before an audience
of not less than 150 000 people.
Lee began touring abroad in 2012, appearing in Holland, Germany,
France, Slovenia,
Belgium, Switzerland, Capo Verde and the UK to name a few.
