Connected Fidelity / Symphony Distribution

David Taylor purchased three Connected Fidelity fuses at the show and we caught up with him a few weeks later so he could provide his listening verdict…

“I've installed a so-called hi-fi fuse before and whilst I thought I could hear an improvement, it wasn't clear where, so when Michael Osborn of Connected-Fidelity mentioned the feedback received (as well as the price) for his cryogenically enhanced fuses, I thought…why not?”

“I installed one in my Graham’s Hydra and immediately felt there was less bass? But, after a few days I realised what I was hearing was less bass boom and ‘more bass detail!’ The bass became so musical. I reached for Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side.” (Always a good test of a system's bass). “Overture” from Joni Mitchel’s “Don Juan's Reckless Daughter” is another favourite with Jaco Pastorius doing what he does best. Everything is now so tuneful and musical. The mains grunge I'd gotten used to is now gone. I now listen at much reduced volumes as the vocals and instruments of the music flow so clearly. Highly recommended and a steal at £45 for a set of 3!”

David’s components: Hydra powers a Naim 82 preamp, Supercap and 2 x 135 amplifiers.

David also confirmed: “…A second fuse in the Lingo brings clarity and solidity to vocals.”

Harmony HI-FI Distribution

This was the first room which caught my utmost attention. Admittedly, having the AMG Viella Forte on display will do this! AMG produce some of the finest turntables you can buy in my opinion. We have been proud owners of the Viella V12 turntable for several years and have never looked back. Once the demonstration began I was able to shift my attention away from the solid physical beauty of the Viella Forte turntable and concentrate on the music.

The physical and sonic presence of this room did command a great amount of attention (and for good reason). With obvious assistance from Gryphon Apex Mono Power Amplifiers, Marten Mingus Septet speakers and associated components, the sonic capabilities of the combined kit in this room certainly made me draw a breath or two occasionally...
