Monitor Audio
Another show favourite. I was enthralled with
the controlled power, presence and warmth in this room. Monitor
Audio’s unconventional looking Hyphn speakers coupled with
Vitus Audio’s SM-103 Power Amplifiers delivered music in
a way I have not heard before. It is great to see such a unique
design that would not look too out of place (speaker size wise)
in a moderately sized living room (providing you can afford the
£70k price tag)!

the Hylixa Signature is made and how it all works…
PMC
Great to see a pair of MartinLogan ESL15A’s
attracting an audience.
I still believe great improvement can be made by the demonstrators
(PMC) to highlight the finesse and potentially organic signature
offered by the MartinLogan ESL range.
PS Audio
The PS Audio BHK300 Signature Monoblocks &
BHK Signature Preamplifier was at the top of my amplifier short-list
for some time. In fact, I almost purchased a new rack to accommodate
them even before listening (I was confident they would be my next
purchase). Thankfully, after an extremely up close and personal
listen to the PS Audio BHK600 Signature Monoblock Amplifiers &
BHK Signature Preamplifier at The UK Hi-Fi Show, 1 October 2023
and detailed conversation with Paul McGowan regarding my personal
taste,
I decided not to continue the PS Audio route.
I was now on a valve amplifier exploration!
